In this 4 week class students will learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing as a beginner or give students a chance to refresh skills that they have already acquired but need refreshed. Individuals may take this intro class more than once to become familiar with wheel and pottery making process!
The goal of this class is to introduce our students to the art of pottery, along with basic skills and knowledge of the wheel to allow them to create functional pieces. Students will explore the steps and techniques needed to throw a vessel on the potters wheel all while having a great time learning! We will walk you through the process of throwing, trimming, and glazing. You will leave the class with some finished pieces and ideas on how make pottery in the future!
Our instructor Joshua Hassan will guide you in your art making process with the perfect balance of fun and education. His background in ceramics and overall awesomeness will help you to grow as an artist and learn many new techniques, tips, tricks, and fall in love with this medium. All supplies are included in the cost of the class along with glazing and firing pieces made. Should you be so prolific that you are making an incredible amount of vessels we do offer additional clay poundage, tools, glazing, and firing of items for a separate cost.
Must be 16 years old or older to enroll.
