This combo class is to allow our young artists a chance to use clay in 2 different ways! During this class, participants will have the unique opportunity to experience the thrill of the pottery wheel and also get a chance to create a small hand built piece of pottery!  Our experienced and friendly instructors will be there every step of the way, making sure everyone feels confident and excited to dive into the world of pottery. This class is a fantastic opportunity to try the art of wheel throwing along with making a small piece by hand to keep. (Ages 8-12) 


Class Details:

Duration: 1.5 Hours (Includes instruction, supplies, 1 small hand-built project, a chance to experience the pottery wheel & clean-up)

Suitable For: Artists ages 8-12 

Cost: $45 per person

What's Included:

  • Expert Instruction: Our experienced pottery instructors will guide your artists through the process of trying the pottery wheel: Each participant will receive instruction and a chance to use the wheel. Artists will also be guided through a hand built portion of class where they will create a ceramics piece using a variety of techniques.

  • Tools and Materials: We provide all the necessary tools and materials for your pottery adventure.

  • Finished Piece: Each artist will be guaranteed one piece of pottery to keep that they created using a hand-built method. Artists will create a different item each class including but not limited to slab building, coils, pinch pots, and more! Artists will get a chance to experience the pottery wheel. Using the wheel can be difficult for young artists but always exciting to experience! Artists will get a chance to use the wheel but will NOT make an item to keep during their time on the wheel during this class. All clay will be reclaimed and reused. 


*PLEASE NOTE OUR STUDIO IS IN THE BASEMENT! ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL NEED TO GO UP AND DOWN STEPS FOR CLASS*

If you are unable to attend the class, your ticket for that class/event is nonrefundable. We are happy to have you transfer your ticket to a friend or family member to attend the class in your place. Unfortunately, due to supplies, payment of instructors, and limited seats, we are not able to offer refunds or a transfer into another class. 

To run our classes CURIO needs a minimum of 4 sign-ups. If CURIO should have to cancel the class for any reason registered participants are able to:

1) Move their ticket to another open class or rescheduled class, 2) Receive a digital gift card, or 3) Get a refund. We strive to avoid cancellations but promise a fair process in unforeseen circumstances should CURIO be the one canceling!
