From a simple field sketch to a polished work of art, artists employ the same strategies to capture a bird’s character. This workshop uses simple tools and basic techniques that can easily be incorporated into your drawing or birding practice.We will talk a bit about bird anatomy, but the focus will be on learning to trust what you see and
record it accurately. Beginners welcome! Suggested age is 13 and above. 

The class is taught by Michael McDevitt, an avid birder, former avian research field technician, and Assistant Professor of Art at Westmoreland County College.
