RE:STYLE
AGES 10–16 | 3-WEEK CLASS | 5:30–8:30 PM
MAKE IT YOURS. WEAR IT PROUD
Young artists will explore the creative world of upcycled fashion while learning real sewing and textile techniques along the way. Over three hands-on sessions, students will transform a hoodie or flannel into a one-of-a-kind wearable piece that reflects their own ideas, personality, and style.
This isn't about following a pattern and making something that looks exactly like everyone else's. Artists will learn the tools and techniques they need, then experiment with ways to change, embellish, redesign, and reimagine clothing.
From sewing and embroidery to appliqué and custom patches, students will discover just how much creative potential can be hiding in something that's already sitting in your closet.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Artists will learn and experiment with:
- Hand & machine sewing
- Appliqué techniques
- Embroidery
- Creating and adding custom patches
- Basic pattern-making concepts
- Creative clothing upcycling
- Designing a wearable piece that reflects their individual style
PARENTS & GUARDIANS
This class is designed for artists ages 10–16 who enjoy fashion, making, designing, or simply trying something completely new. No previous sewing experience is required.
This is an independent drop-off class, so parents and guardians do not need to stay. Drop off your artist, enjoy some time to yourself, and come back to see what they created!
CLASS DETAILS
Ages: 8–15
Length: 3 classes Monday, September 14th, 21st, 28th
Time: 5:30–8:30 PM
Location: CURIO Art Studio
Materials: All crochet supplies and instruction included
Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate
Artists may join us as complete beginners or bring some previous crochet experience. Projects and instruction will offer opportunities for artists to learn at their own level and continue developing their skills.
CANCELLATION POLICY
All class tickets are nonrefundable. If your artist is unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer their spot to a friend or family member.
Due to limited seats, supplies, and instructor commitments, tickets cannot be transferred to another class.
Classes require a minimum of 4 artists to run. If CURIO must cancel a class, including due to low enrollment or instructor illness, participants may choose to transfer to another available class, receive a CURIO digital gift card, or receive a refund.
We do our best to avoid cancellations and will always communicate with families as soon as possible if a change is necessary.
We can't wait to create skills to last a lifetime with you at CURIO!
