Special Abilities Art Class
Exploring Creativity, Together
This 1-hour class is designed especially for youth artists with special abilities, ages 5–15, to explore art-making in a supportive and flexible environment. Artists will be guided through a creative project using a variety of materials, with room for individual expression and choice. We understand that every artist’s process and outcome may look different—and that’s more than okay! CURIO Art Studio is beyond excited to offer our art studio space for this exploration in the arts. This class is in collaboration with The Friendship Factory and art instructor Brandy Donze of CraftBin Creative.
Please note that for this class each artist must be accompanied by a caregiver, who will participate alongside them as needed. This class is less about the final product and more about enjoying the experience of creating together, learning at your own pace, and celebrating creativity in all its forms.
What to Expect:
-
A welcoming space focused on inclusion, creativity, and expression
-
A guided project with flexible instructions and space for personal interpretation
-
Use of mixed materials including paint, markers, glue, paper, and more
-
Small class sizes for personalized attention
-
A chance to connect with others in a calm, encouraging setting
Participant Expectations:
-
Artists should be able to treat art supplies and the studio environment respectfully
-
Artists should have an interest in creative exploration and art-making
-
Caregivers must remain with their artist for the duration of the class
We are honored to provide a space where artists of all abilities can feel empowered, supported, and free to create in their own unique way.
If you are unable to attend the class, your ticket is nonrefundable. If your artist is unable to create with us on the day of class you will be provided with a take home kit to create the project at home. Unfortunately due to supplies, payment of instructors, and limited seats, we are not able to offer refunds or transfers into other classes.
To run our classes CURIO needs a minimum of 4 sign-ups. If CURIO should have to cancel the class for any reason registered participant will be able to:
1) Move their ticket to another open class or rescheduled class, 2) Receive a digital gift card, or 3) Get a refund. We strive to avoid cancellations but promise a fair process in unforeseen circumstances should CURIO be the one canceling!
