Whether you’re looking to expand your skills with the potter's wheel or just try something new, this no-experience-needed course is for you. During the 4-week class, students will learn the basics of studio etiquette and material preparation, work through centering struggles, explore forms with different surface treatment, and more. (Suggested for ages 16+)

Class Details:

Duration: 2 Hours each week (Includes instruction, wheel time, & clean-up)

This 4 Week Pottery Wheel class is designed for artists 16+ that are passionate about using the pottery wheel. Whether at a beginner or intermediate level this class will allow individuals to use the pottery wheels with guided instruction to learn the basics of the wheel or to hone their skills. 

We recommend signing up for this class multiple times to continue practicing while we provide a nurturing environment for skill development and artistic exploration. Even if you have used the pottery wheel before but it has been a while, we highly recommend this foundational class to refresh your skills and continue to build a solid foundation!

Throughout this class artists will practice the fundamental techniques of wheel throwing under the guidance of experienced instructors. Our small class sizes ensure personalized attention for each participant. Familiarize yourself with studio etiquette and safety guidelines, ensuring a secure and enjoyable creative experience. Artists learn the essentials of throwing different shapes, trimming, and glazing pottery pieces to create functional pottery.  Our instructors create an encouraging and exciting space with the perfect balance of fun and education. Our local instructors' backgrounds in ceramics and overall awesomeness will help you to grow as an artist and learn many new techniques, tips, tricks, and fall in love with this medium.   All supplies are included in the cost of the class along with the glazing and firing of pieces. Should you be so prolific that you are making an incredible amount of vessels, we do offer additional clay poundage for purchase for a separate cost.

* OUR CLAY CAVE IS LOCATED IN THE BASEMENT YOU WILL NEED TO BE ABLE TO WALK UP AND DOWN STEPS TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS CLASS*

Cancellation Policy for those that are unable to attend: 

If you are unable to attend the class, your ticket for that class/event is nonrefundable. We are happy to have you transfer your ticket to a friend or family member to attend the class in your place. Unfortunately, due to supplies, payment of instructors, and limited seats, we are not able to offer refunds or a transfer into another class. 

Cancellation Policy due to low enrollment of the class or instructor illness: 

To run our classes CURIO needs a minimum of 4 sign-ups. If CURIO should have to cancel the class for any reason including limited enrollment registered participants are able to:

1) Move their ticket to another open class or rescheduled class

2)  Receive a digital gift card

3)  Get a refund. We strive to avoid cancellations but promise a fair process in unforeseen circumstances should CURIO be the one canceling!
